I have breast cancer.
The last couple of months have been difficult and these words are hard to write, however I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer.
I felt a lump and went to my family dr. From there I had a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy and now a number of consults and appts to plan the road ahead. I start chemo on Monday and instead of being scared, I’m choosing to see it as a member of my team helping me fight this. I’m early stage and caught it early enough that they don’t think it has spread. So all my friends, it’s March first- “feel it in the first”. Please check yourselves!
I knew the diagnosis was coming after the last scan, and I’ve learned so much from others who have gone through this journey in real life as well as through these platforms. Their stories have helped me feel less scared at a very uncertain time and for that reason, I will share my journey as openly as I am able. To help those that will come after me.
I’m feeling very positive about all of this. I know the road ahead won’t be easy, but I’ll get through it. I’m so very grateful for family and all of my friends for their love and support.
Please be kind to each other, you truly never know what others are going through.
Here we go….
