Week 10 update.
The injections boosted my neutrophils from .8 to 6.6. It amazes me how well they work. On Friday I also learned that this is not genetic and the tumour is so small it’s hard to feel. I will likely reach a complete pathological response to chemo and with the genetic test being negative, my surgeon may suggest a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy. I will meet with him in a few weeks to learn more.
We had a fundraising event to attend on Saturday. Kentucky Derby style for Scotland's Yard (raising money for a pediatric cancer centre) I was asked to share a bit of my story and was happy to do so. Writing it out here is way easier than actually saying the words out loud. Another milestone in accepting this reality.
The antibiotics are working and I was able to take my new wig out for a spin! It arrived straight so I washed it and curled it and it turned out so well. It felt good to be out around people and the wig made me feel like me again.
One day at a time. Xo
